Saturday with Redfin

Sister Ex and I were asked to speak about staging to a group of home owners at a Redfin event sponsored by real estate agent Sabrina Booth. For certain she is the Rock Star of Redfin. We are grateful to be asked. Needless to say Sister and I had some good laughs over this crazy Stager Girl journey we have been on.

We go to great heights for you!

All in a day's work to hang art. Not good though seeing Sister Ex up here on a Friday after having staged 5 homes this week. All the Stager Girls are exhausted.

In search of inspiration, we were directed here: Bedford Brown. It stirred our creative juices and now we come back to Seattle rested inspired and ready to create beautiful spaces.

Welcome Weekend

It has been a rugged week in the Lives of the Stager Girls. We are all in great need of some down time and relaxation.  I will hang our "Closed for the Season" sign on our door (at lease until Tuesday) and not think about pillows, art, furniture, and tough customers.

ENJOY!

Day in the Life of a Stager Girl

I don't think we have worked harder in our life as we did these last 2 weeks. This Middle Sister hit a wall with decision making. Overwhelming and overwhelmed. It's lack of warehouse space, not enough time in the day, no actual business hours, tons of work, little time to plan, and just the 2 of us orchestrating this show.

We start our day at the job site, take notes and power back to the warehouse to load up. This week we have been finishing a job the same day we start a new job which makes the warehouse a buzz of craziness.

Thursday we had J unloading a job downtown and carefully calculating what she needed to bring to us within the hour and what goes back to the warehouse. Sister Ex is across town picking up a sofa and chair which has swiftly become our favorite while M and I are finishing a home and racing to meet everyone at the new job. For certain it's a rat wheel.

Our last job of the week ended at an amazing condo overlooking Lake Union. I vowed that if it went past 5 pm that I was running to the store for beers.  Amazingly it was 4:30 and my commute home was a mere 10 blocks. This Stager girl is exhausted.

Sister Ex scheduled 4 jobs next week. Should I tell her that I am taking Friday off to be with my BFFs for the weekend?

Leaving the warehouse laden with our work bags and tools.
Pretending to be a picture framer...
Working with what girlie tools we have...
 Steaming our sheers, throws, linens....
 Loading out after the job...Ugh.

I guess this would be our board room where all the high powered meetings occur.

Waiting for J to deliver our table and turn this chaos into order.

Behind the staging scene...

Waiting for our truck to arrive at the job. We look very relaxed now but within minutes we will be flyin'

It's all in the details which we laugh about constantly. Steaming a throw-would you ever do that at home?!

Hanging the art is an art.

On the Wheel

Continuing the daily grind like a rat on a wheel...

I have a ton of jobs to post but not the time to post them. Business is booming.

Rat on a Wheel

Not easy figuring out all the things that must be handled when one is dealing with a smoke filled warehouse due to a fire. Been learning and sorting things out daily.

Click the arrow to see a 5 second video of me working. Really-you must...

Yikes, even the wheel has tipped over. Can anything go right? No time to troubleshoot my video or photo-you get the idea...

Glamorous Shopping Day

Once in awhile we have success at Ikea. Boy, talk about a "diy" shopping experience-yuck.

We have had a dolly in the warehouse for years and literally have never used it...until today. Wow, where has she been for the last 6 years. She works great. And what a happy worker it creates!

Icicle Ridge Winery-Washington

Icicle Ridge Winery is a favorite spot for Sister Ex and I to sit, relax and plan.

As you know, I am very fond of these chandeliers. These two were made by the owner of the winery.

Between these two trees is a wine glass made up of lights I believe. How fun to see that lit from afar.

Cold Stagers

We were under dressed for a job that had no heat. Thankfully some of the bedding worked to keep us warm.

Shopping without Sister Ex

Had a big job on Wednesday so I recruited my mother to help me with the shopping. Let me be clear, I am not the company shopper-I do not like that part of the job. But Sister Ex is out of town and the task has fallen to me so off I went...to Z Gallerie in Redmond Town Center.

How fun would this be to move your bed under a canopy for the summer? That would be the best "staycation" ever.
We don't have much yellow in our staging. I think this would be a great sunny start. Sister Ex bought the green vase below and it looks great in a job.

Off to complete our staging job today with all the new accessories. It is looking super cute. Photos to follow!

Happy Friday!

It's sunny in Seattle which is so nice from the stormy windy yesterday. Finishing some houses today-more photos to come.

Calm before the Storm

We are on our last week of consultations, estimates and bids. It is very quiet... Tuesday we hit the ground running with one house staging after another. March feels like January-houses pouring on the market. Ready for take off!

Out of the Office

Have had zero time to check in with some new staging projects. Glad you stopped by-I'll be back with some great photos.
