Palm Springs Modernism Week 2014

Signing off for a few days as I head to Palm Springs for a ton of inspiration. This Middle Sister has tickets to the Vintage Trailer Show, Prefab Show, Mid Century Designer Show House, Double decker bus tour of Mid century homes and a Jump and Jive dinner party. A huge week of fun!

Flower & Garden Show

The Northwest Flower and Garden Show is just around the corner.  This is an event and shopping experience not to be missed. February 23 - 27th.

I do not know the official theme behind the show this year but it sounds like the gardens will take inspiration from children's books. Last year water was a reoccurring theme.

I usually choose my Dalia's from Dan's Dahlias and my espalier fruit trees and shrubs from Rain Tree Nursery. You will get them bare root which is ideal for transporting.

Cultural Fair

Each year, at my daughter's school, 8th graders gather information on their families and present a story board. I was loving all the vintage photos and the rich displays.

Think Pride and Prejudice..

and prams in the park...
Hollywood starlett...

love the scenic backdrop and the layers of ruffles.

Student Art

The following art pieces have been created by 10th, 11th & 12th graders at various highschools around the greater Seattle area. These were my favorites.

World Vision exhibit at the 2009 Puyallup Fair.

We have it a plenty

Clean and dependable

Thankful for it

For everyone

Expensive but available

Just needed to take a moment to be thankful for our families, our wealth and our health.
